Days Gone Remaster: A New Chapter in the Zombie Apocalypse
Hello gamers, there's good news! The Days Gone remaster is officially coming to the PS5 on April 25, 2025, bringing more than just enhanced graphics. If you’ve already played this epic open-world zombie apocalypse game, it might be time to dive back in and experience it with all the new improvements. And if you’ve never played it before, then trust me when I say you should give it a shot.
For a bit of background, Days Gone originally released a few years ago to the PS4, quickly gaining attention for its stunning open-world design and gripping story. It then made its way to PC, opening up the game to a whole new audience. Now, it’s being remastered for the PS5 with even better visuals and a few additional tweaks that should make for an even more immersive experience.
The remaster isn’t just a graphical overhaul. There will be some fresh new content, ensuring that both returning players and newcomers have something to look forward to. This includes:
Horde Assault – A Survival Arcade Mode: Test your skills in this new mode where you fight against waves of Freakers in intense, fast-paced survival action. How long can you survive?
Permadeath Mode: For those looking for an ultimate challenge, this mode will let you experience the full game with the permanent risk of death. One mistake and it’s game over!
Speedrun Mode: Compete for the best times in this new mode, perfect for players who want to put their skills to the test and race through the game’s story at lightning speed.
DualSense Haptic Feedback Support: Feel every moment with the power of the PS5's DualSense controller. From the tension in the triggers to the vibration effects, the game will feel more immersive than ever.
New Accessibility Features: The remaster will include new options to ensure that more players can enjoy the game, such as improved text size, colorblind modes, and other enhancements to make gameplay more accessible.
Enhanced Photo Mode: Capture the beauty of the world of Days Gone with the improved photo mode, offering new filters, frames, and more options for taking stunning screenshots.
For those of you who already own the game, here’s the good news: the upgrade to the PS5 remaster will only cost $10. It’s a small price to pay for an enhanced experience and all the new content. For those who don’t own the game yet, the standalone version will be available for $50.
As for the PC version, it’s also getting a little something extra. According to current info, for $9.99, you’ll get access to the new content that’s being released alongside the remaster.
Now, I have to say, Days Gone is, in my opinion, one of the best open-world zombie apocalyptic games out there. Once I completed the game, I was left wanting more—something I don’t regret. I really hope this remaster will spark interest in the series, because who knows? If it sells well, we might just get a sequel, but of course, that’s just me daydreaming. After all, money talks, and if the sales are strong, the possibility is there.
So, whether you're revisiting the game or playing it for the first time, make sure to mark your calendars for April 25, 2025, and get ready to jump back into the wild world of Days Gone.
