But if not, you should definitely take advantage of it. Many new users who’ve just started using PCs for gaming may not know about this, and I want to help them get the most out of their gaming experience.

Let me tell you a quick story. This Christmas, my nephew received his brand-new PC, and I spoke with my sister to make sure she downloaded the free Epic Games offerings. Well, as luck would have it, Epic Games had a special promotion that gave away free games every day during the holidays! By the end of that day, my nephew had already added 10+ free games to his library. And guess what? I was able to set up his PC from across the world using a simple trick—more on that in an upcoming post, so stay tuned!

But first, let's dive into how you can start getting free games too.

Getting Started with Epic Games

To get your free games, you'll first need to create an Epic Games account. Here's how:

1. Create an Epic Games Account: Head over to the Epic Games Store and create an account. It's quick and easy!

2. Download the Epic Games Launcher: While you can create an account without downloading the launcher, you'll need it to play the games. But here's a great tip: if you don’t have a PC yet, you can still create your account and claim free games from your mobile device. Once you have your PC, simply download the Epic Games Launcher, log in, and all your free games will be waiting for you.

3. Claim Your Free Games: After setting up your account, head to the Free Games section of the Epic Games Store (you can see a preview of the section in the images below). Every week, there will be a new set of games up for grabs.

Click on it, and when you reach the checkout page, make sure it shows the price as $0 before proceeding. Once you're sure, complete the checkout, and that game is now yours forever, even if you don’t install it right away.

Why You Should Check Regularly

You might be wondering why you should bother checking for free games so often. Here’s why: sometimes, Epic Games offers incredible games—worth anywhere from $30 to $50+—for free. And even if the game isn’t something you’re immediately interested in, it’s always a good idea to grab it while it’s free. Who knows, you might want to play it in the future, and it’s always nice to have a large library of games just waiting to be installed.

As an example, I personally have a total of 334 free games in my Epic Games library, and I didn’t even claim them all every week! I’ve missed out on a lot of free games, but still, that’s a ton of money I didn’t have to spend.
